چکیده
Abstract A new model for viscoelastic phase separation is proposed, based on a systematically derived conservative two-fluid model. Dissipative effects are included by phenomenological terms. By construction, the consistent with second law of thermodynamics. We study well-posedness in two space dimensions, i.e., existence weak solutions, weak-strong uniqueness principle, and stability respect to perturbations, which proven means relative energy estimates. Our numerical simulations good agreement physical experiments. Furthermore, qualitative mesoscopic observed.

Kinetics and morphologies of viscoelastic phase separation.
In this paper, the effects of relaxational bulk modulus and the average composition of polymers on the viscoelastic phase separation are investigated in detail. It is found that there are two typical morphologies, i.e., moving droplet phase and phase inversion, and the relaxation of the dynamical asymmetry and the amplification of the concentration fluctuation are responsible for the appearance...
متن کاملViscoelastic phase separation in shear flow.
We numerically investigate viscoelastic phase separation in polymer solutions under shear using a time-dependent Ginzburg-Landau model. The gross variables in our model are the polymer volume fraction and a conformation tensor. The latter represents chain deformations and relaxes slowly on the rheological time giving rise to a large viscoelastic stress. The polymer and the solvent obey two-flui...
متن کاملAnalysis of Five Parameter Viscoelastic Model Under Dynamic Loading
The purpose of this paper is to analysis the viscoelastic models under dynamic loading. A five-parameter model is chosen for study exhibits elastic, viscous, and retarded elastic response to shearing stress. The viscoelastic specimen is chosen which closely approximates the actual behavior of a polymer. The module of elasticity and viscosity coefficients are assumed to be space dependent i.e. f...
متن کاملPolymerization-induced viscoelastic phase separation in polyethersulfone-modified epoxy systems.
The polymerization-induced phase-separation process of polyethersulfone (PES)-modified epoxy systems was monitored in situ continuously on a single sample throughout the entire curing process by using optical microscopes, time-resolved light scattering (TRLS), scanning electronic microscopes (SEM), and a rheometry instrument. At specific PES content a viscoelastic transformation process of phas...
متن کاملAnalysis of a viscoelastic spring-mass model
In this paper we consider a linear wave equation with strong damping and dynamical boundary conditions as an alternative model for the classical spring-mass-damper ODE. Our purpose is to compare analytically these two approaches to the same physical system. We take a functional analysis point of view based on semigroup theory, spectral perturbation analysis and dominant eigenvalues.
